Hitachi Data Systems Forums Code of Conduct

General Overview

Welcome to the Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) Forums. In these forums, members can exchange information, questions, and comments regarding Hitachi Data Systems products, services, and support. To create an account and participate in these forums, you must first read and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. You must also read and agree to the Terms of Use governing all HDS.com Web site activity.

We reserve the right to amend or change our policies and this Code of Conduct at any time, and encourage you to periodically review them to ensure you are in compliance.

Registration

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to use and participate in the Hitachi Data Systems Forums. You must provide current, accurate, and complete information about yourself that may be required as part of the account creation process, as well as for continued use and participation in these forums. You are responsible for any and all activities that occur under your account. Hitachi Data Systems reserves the right to refuse or terminate your access to the forums without notice for any reason or for no reason whatsoever.

Specific Guidelines For Use

Practice Online Chat Etiquette

• Please treat other forum participants with respect. Do not use the Hitachi Data Systems Forums to threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse other users. Offensive language will not be tolerated.
• Hitachi Data Systems reserves the right to remove user-created content that advocates or encourages expressions of violence, bigotry, racism, hatred, obscenity, or profanity.
• Forum administrators may, at will and without notice, remove postings or ban participants deemed objectionable or that violate this code of conduct.
• Do not falsely impersonate any other person on the forums, including Hitachi Data Systems employees or agents.
• Spamming is strictly forbidden. This includes, but is not limited to, sending identical and irrelevant or unsolicited submissions to many different users, as well as misrepresenting the source of anything you post.
• Do not post computer programs that contain destructive features, such as viruses, worms, or Trojan horses. In addition, do not post any instructions or other materials that would allow forum users or third parties to harm others' computers or to inappropriately access software or websites.
• While you may use the Hitachi Data Systems Forums to provide supplemental information about your own business that might be of interest to other users (without spamming them), you should not rely on these forums as a primary mechanism for operating or promoting your business. Any use of these forums for commercial purposes is solely at your own risk, and Hitachi Data Systems assumes no liability for such use.

Follow the Law

Do not engage in any illegal activity while using the Hitachi Data Systems Forums. You cannot use these forums to publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, or other unlawful material or discussion. This includes, but is not limited to, child pornography, bestiality, incest, illegal drugs, software piracy, and harassment.

• Do not post messages or upload files that contain photos, music, software, or other material protected by intellectual property laws, rights of privacy or publicity, or any other applicable law unless you own or have rights to these materials.
• You must adhere to all local and national laws that pertain to your area or country of residence.

Exercise Common Sense and Responsibility

• The Hitachi Data Systems Forums are not designed as a primary place to store computer files. Do not rely on these forums to safely and securely store any materials, such as photos, documents, or software. You are responsible for creating backups of materials you post to the forums. Hitachi Data Systems is not responsible for the alteration, deletion, or loss of any stored items or data.
• You are responsible for protecting your computer against interferences or viruses you may encounter while using the Hitachi Data Systems Forums. We do not screen user-created material, and advise that you install a virus protection program on your computer.
• Please use your own good judgment when evaluating information posted on these forums. You are responsible for any actions you take based on advice or information you receive online, and we recommend that you perform your own research prior to making any decisions.
